Dear colleagues,
I would like to inform you about the 2nd International Conference on Advanced Joining Processes 2021 (AJP2021) which will take place in Sintra (Portugal) 21-22 October 2021 (www.fe.up.pt/ajp2021). The conference venue is the 5 stars hotel Vila Galé, Sintra which offers excellent facilities for high quality scientific interactions.
The conference is chaired by me and co-chaired by Paulo Martins (University of Lisbon, Portugal), Mohamad El-Zein (John Deere, USA) and Uwe Reisgen (RWTH Aachen University). The German Scientific Society of Joining (WGF, Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft Fügetechnik) supports this conference. The focus will be on all advanced methods of joining such as friction stir welding, joining by plastic deformation, laser welding, advanced mechanical joining, adhesive bonding, hybrid joining, etc. You have in attachment the programme of AJP2019 for you to have an idea of the type of themes treated in AJP conferences. Authors who wish to make a presentation (oral or poster) are requested to submit a short abstract (one single A4 page possibly with a diagram and references) in English, by 4 June 2021. The abstracts should be sent electronically to lucas@fe.up.pt. The abstract template can be downloaded from the conference web site (www.fe.up.pt/ajp2021).
Conference proceedings (CD-ROM) with the accepted abstracts will be available at the registration. The CD-ROM will have an ISBN number. Full papers will be published in a special issue of Journal of Advanced Joining Processes (ELSEVIER, no fees involved), Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part E: Journal of Process Mechanical Engineering (SAGE), Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part L: Journal of Materials: Design and Applications (SAGE), Material Design & Processing Communications (WILEY) and Journal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing (MDPI, no fees involved), provided they meet the quality standards. The full papers (not compulsory) should be sent to the e-mail lucas@fe.up.pt before 21 October 2021. The text should be in single column format and double line spacing.
