Dear colleagues,

I would like to inform you about the 1st Iberian-American Conference on Materials and Structures for sustainable development (IAMS2022) which will take place in Porto (Portugal) 26-28 January 2022 (https://web.fe.up.pt/~iams2022/). The conference venue is the campus of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), which offers excellent facilities for high quality scientific interactions. FEUP is located in the town of Porto in the Northern region of Portugal. Porto is a beautiful and lively city, steeped in history and rich in great experiences. With its magnificent location by the Atlantic coast, Porto is the city of the world famous Port Wine and the River Douro.

The conference is chaired by me, as well as by Prof. António J. M. Ferreira (DEM, FEUP) and Prof. Humberto Varum (DEC, FEUP & IC). The aim of this conference is to share the latest research on materials and structures, at all scales, methods and applications. The conference welcomes abstracts from Portugal, Spain and South American Countries, and the presentations will occur in Portuguese, Spanish and English. All other countries are welcome to contribute. The conference runs in physical and online modes. Depending on the pandemic evolution, the conference may run exclusively on an online basis.
